A prolific batter for Essex, Tom Westley scored a century against the touring Australians during the 2015 Ashes series. He has a close bond with Essex teammate and former England captain Alastair Cook and lists Steve Waugh as his cricketing role model.

After a century for the England Lions against the touring South Africans, he earned a call-up to the England Test side for the third Test of the 2017 season, slotting straight in at No.3
